At Jabberwocky, Beach School trips are all about relishing and enjoying every discovery feeling. Children love playing in the rock pools and looking closely at what might be hiding inside. The big, sandy beach is like a giant drawing board where children use sticks, pebbles, and even hands to practice writing. For the children Brean Beach is a place of boundless exploration and freedom. The space allows children’s imaginations to run wild, and the natural elements provide endless opportunities for hands-on discovery and play.
What are the wonderful values of Beach School at Jabberwocky?
Children get to connect with nature and learn about the sea, sand, rocks, and wildlife. This hands-on learning helps children discover pebbles, shells and seaweed which they refer to as “beach toys”. Children experience sensory play, freedom to explore and develop their creativity and imagination skills. And importantly, it is truly a memory making experience.
We have the most wonderful trips to Beach School. At Beach School, the children’s curiosity is fully ignited and their need to explore is completely engaged. It is a sensory wonderland, with the sounds of the waves crashing, the sea birds chirping and the sea breeze blowing.

The texture of the sand, rocks and water is a delight to their fingers and toes. The beach is fully resourced with toys of its own! The sticks, shells, pebbles, seaweed and more, it is a magical resource supply, ready and waiting to be used in whatever way our little people see fit!
